This information guide on pili
is part of the extension and information support services component
of the Pili Development Project. Pili Development Project is
one of the three componets under the "Locally Funded Indigenous
Crops Program" - a P250M project spearheaded by the DA thru
the help of Congressman Edcel Lagman of the 1st District of Albay
-aimed to revitalize Bicol's three major commercial crops - Pili,
Abaca and Coconut.
Under the project, the Department of Agriculture as the lead
agency in partnership with Fiber Industry Development Authority
(FIDA) and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) spearheaded
the massive planting and replanting of pili, abaca and coconut
in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes
and Sorsogon.
