 MANDATE    

 

 The Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council (RAFC), a replicate of the National Agricultural and Fishery Council (NAFC) in the regions, pursuant to Executive Order No. 116, Rule 113.1 of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Administrative Order (AO) No. 6, Series of 1998 as affirmed by AO No. 34, Series of 2000, and the mandate of the Agricultural and Fisheries Modernization Act of 1997 (AFMA), was created in order to encourage people participation and empowerment in agriculture and fishery development through sectoral representation in agricultural policy making bodies so that its policies, plans and programs are formulated/executed to satisfy the needs of its clientele and likewise to use bottom-up, self-reliant farm systems approach that will emphasize social justice, equity, productivity and sustainability in the use of agriculture and fishery resources.

Disaster Risk Reduction Training for AFCs held
(August 19, 2011)

The Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council (RAFC) conducted a two-day seminar workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) held at Lanuza Hall, DA RFU 5 on August 18-19, 2011.

The activity was attended by RAFC officers and provincial and municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council Chairpersons.
