Dr. Elena B. delos Santos (2nd from right), DA RTD for Operations and Extension hands over two (2) checks for the implementation of  two projects under the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) in the province of Sorsogon. The province receives the first tranche fund worth P12,250,000.00 for the Sorsogon Agri- Development project   and  P2,401,000.00  for the Establishment of Mechanical Flatbed Dryer Project. The checks were received by (L-R) Ma. Corazon B. Astillero PEO III, Prov’l Planning & Development Office (PPDO) of Sorsogon;  Marilou C. Rodriguez, Sorsogon provincial treasurer; and Dominador O. Jardin, PGDH – PPDO. The turn over was held at Dr. delos Santos’ office. PAMANA  is a partnership program between the Department of Agriculture and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP). It is the government's peace and development framework to strengthen peace building, reconstruction and development in conflict affected areas (CAAs) as well as sustain all on-going governance and development initiatives on the ground. Its main strategy is to bring back government in these communities by ensuring that people benefit from improved delivery of basic social services and are served by responsive, transparent and accountable governments on resource allocation and utilization, alongside economic development efforts.
