BAGUIO CITY – “Climate change begets devastating impact on mankind. We must plan and act differently, adapt to the new “normal,” and look at climate change with a new eye. Media technology has likewise changed information and communication. The new media is helping disaster officials develop new strategies to save lives in times of disasters. Through media, we were able to synchronize the flow of relief goods, with just a click of a button, we were able to know the whereabouts of distant loved ones.” This was the message of Undersecretary John Co Chua of Presidential Communications Operations Office to the information officers during the three-day Southern Luzon Communicators’ Network Conference held July 7-10, 2015 at the city of pines.
