SAN JOSE, CAMARINES SUR – The 12th AA slaughterhouse in Bicol funded by the DA – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) is about to be constructed in this town.
With the groundbreaking of the P51.45 M slaughterhouse, the efficiency of livestock processing will be ensured along with public health safety through the delivery of safe meat products. Once completed, the slaughterhouse will comply with the national standards set by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) and will promote modern and sanitary meat-handling technologies.
“With this breakthrough na magkaroon tayo ng double-A slaughterhouse hindi lang natin pinapasuguro ang safety ng ating food source we also have the opportunity to expand the supply the meat products to the other islands of Region 5,” Mayor Jerold Peña said.
Once completed , the facility will cater not only to San Jose but also to neighboring municipalities, envisioned to create a centralized, accessible hub for meat processing in the Partido area.
