To strengthen food security and improve access to safe, fresh, and affordable agri-fishery products, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Bicol formalized a stronger partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with six government agencies for the unification and expansion of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo and Agraryo Merkado sa Kampo Programs. The regional ceremonial signing was held on July 1, 2025, at Camp Brigadier General Simeon A. Ola, Legazpi City.
The agreement builds on the existing Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) program, which previously involved the DA Bicol the Philippine National Police Regional Office 5 (PNP PRO 5), the National Irrigation Administration Regional Office V (NIA ROV), and the Albay Provincial Agricultural Office (APAO). Now, with the inclusion of the regional offices of the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Agrarian Reform, and the Department of Labor and Employment, the initiative aims to reach more communities and create a greater impact.
This unified effort promotes stronger farm-to-market linkages by directly connecting local farmers, including agrarian reform beneficiaries, to consumers in police camps. It also supports local livelihoods and ensures the continued availability of affordable agricultural goods in key communities. Currently, consumers may purchase products through Kadiwa as Camp Ola regularly holds KNP every Tuesday.
