The DA Regional Information Officers from various regions of the country visited the DA Regional office in Bicol for a benchmarking activity on June 27-29, 2022.
The group also proceeded to Nabua, Camarines Sur and visited the Polytechnic State University Broadcast Center equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for digital radio and TV programming. Owned and operated by the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), the FMR University Radio 94.3 FM with an authorized power of 5,000 watts and equipped with digital TV antenna. The group was welcomed by CSPC President Dr. Charlito P. Cadag and Ms Hejie Andalis-Dimabogte, PSUB Executive Operating Officer.
The Department of Agriculture (DA), and Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has an on-going agreement with the CSPC. This was initiated by Emily B. Bordado, the Regional Information Officer and Chief of RAFIS, in response to the directive of Sec. William Dar to jointly pursue aggressive technology transfer and strategic communication employing the newly inaugurated Polytechnic State University Broadcast Center.
In his message during the opening program, DA Bicol Regional Executive Director Rodel P. Tornilla stressed the importance of media and information and communication technologies as important tools in disseminating accurate and timely information to the public. Cheryl C. Suarez, Chief of Agriculture and Fisheries Information Division (AFID) Central Office, expressed her gratitude to the DA 5 executive and key officials who greatly support the advocacies of the Information group. She lauded the collaborative effort of the DA, ATI and the CSPC for coming up with such an amazing project.”Having such support will inspire the information officers and media practitioners to spread more good stories”, she narrated.
Meanwhile, Lovella P. Guarin, OIC of RAFIS Bicol discussed the DA, ATI and CSPC collaboration. Prima Lou Imperial, chief of the Information Service Section of the ATI discussed ATI’s media platforms.
Present also was Dr. Mary Grace Rodriguez, Chief, Operations Division who extended her appreciation to the information group who, like soldiers, are always ready to be deployed anywhere just to capture important events of the department. (Blesilda A. Nuñez)
