SAN AGUSTIN, PILI, CAMARINES SUR – All six provinces of the Bicol Region are gearing up for the rollout of the nationwide implementation of Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) on Monday, July 17, 2023.

The KNP is part of the Marcos’ administration’s campaign on food security with the Department of Agriculture as the lead convenor, fully supported by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is expected to grace the grand launch of the nationwide KNP to be held in San Fernando City, Pampanga on July 17.The simultaneous nationwide KNP aims to strengthen Kadiwa activities and ensure its expansion to all the provinces in the entire Philippines as well as cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region.

Kadiwa ng Pangulo is a market linkage facilitation program that enables farmers to sell directly to consumers, removing market layers, and is aimed to make agi-fishery products accessible at affordable prices.

In the province of Camarines Sur, the KNP will be held at Palestina, Pili which will be ushered by a short program at 10:00 AM to be graced by Camarines Sur Governor Luigi Villafuerte and DA Bicol Regional Executive Director Rodel P. Tornilla. Representatives of DILG, DTI and DSWD will also give their messages of support.

Governors Edcel Greco Lagman of Albay, Ricarte Padilla of Camarines Norte, Joseph Cua of Catanduanes, Antonio Kho of Masbate, and Jose Edwin Hamor of Sorsogon are expected to grace the provincial launch of KNP.

In Albay, the one-day Kadiwa ng Pangulo will be held at the AFB Ville Trading center in Cabangan, Camalig, Albay. In Camarines Norte, KNP will be held at the Agro Sports Plaza in Daet; in Catanduanes, at Virac Plaza; in the province of Masbate, KNP will be held at the Capitol Grounds in masbate City; and in Sorsogon province, KNP will be at the Sports Complex in Balogo, Sorsogon City. Selling will start at 8:00 AM.

DA Bicol through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) headed by Adelina A. Losa has invited 25-40 exhibitors per province including National Food Authority (NFA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and Kadiwa Partners to offer a wide array of agricultural and non-agricultural products including rice, fish, fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry products, value-added products, kakanin and handicrafts.

The DTI will showcase MSMEs products while DOLE, and DSWD will showcase food and nonfood products of livelihood beneficiaries/groups.The host provincial LGUs are also expected to establish Kadiwa stores for selling the aforementioned products, including the One Town, One Product of different localities and “mercato” stalls or ready-to-eat food.
