It is indeed a joyful Christmas to some 50 families of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) of Tadyong Tribal Farmers Association, Inc. who were surprised as they received simple presents from the Department of Agriculture through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo.
The simple gift-giving (amidst the heavy downpour) was held at the foot of Mt. Asog in San Pedro Iriga City, Camarines Sur. It was one of the directives of Agriculture Secretary Francisco “Kiko” Tiu Laurel, Jr.
The site was almost two hours drive from the DA Regional Office in Pili, Cam. Sur. The DA team onboard the Kadiwa truck also handed the same tokens to a number of farmers who happened to be along the road, working on their farms.
The simple token consisted of 10 kilos rice and grocery items. DA Bicol Regional Executive Director Rodel P. Tornilla and AMAD Chief Adelina A. Losa spearheaded the activity. (Lovella P. Guarin – RAFIS 5)
