DA Bicol Regional Executive Director Rodel P. Tornilla led the DA Bicol family in the briefing for the members of the Special Committee on Bicol Affairs and Economic Development (SCBRED) at the House of Representatives in Quezon City on August 7, 2024.

Director Tornilla presented the projects, plans and programs of the Department for Region 5 for FY 2025.

The House Committee on Bicol Recovery and Economic Development is a special committee of the Philippine House of Representatives that tackles policies and programs to promote the over-all development of the Bicol region. It is headed by Chairperson, Rep. Josefina B. Tallado of Cam. Norte 1st Dist, and Vice Chairperson Rep. Raul Alfredo Bongalon of Ako Bicol Party-list. Other members of the SCBRED present were Rep. Wilton Kho of Masbate 3rd district; Rep. Manuel Fortes, Jr. of Sorsogon 2nd dist.; Rep. Eulogio R. Rodriguez of Catanduanes; Rep Jose J. Teves, Jr. of TGP Pary-list and Rep. Angelica Natasha Co of BHW party-list; and Rep. Ronnie Ong of Ang Probinsyano Party-list.

Director Tornilla was accompanied by DA Bicol OIC – RTD Mary Grace Rodriguez; OIC – RTD Lorenzo Alvina; BFAR Regional Director Ariel Pioquinto; PhilFIDA Regional Director Mary Ann Molina; PCA Regional Manager Atty.
