PARACALE, CAMARINES NORTE – Some 59 farmers from this municipality recently received indemnification checks from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).
Arandia said that for this year, 135 farmers whose crops (rice, corn and banana) were affected by various pests and diseases as well as typhoons, already received a total of P1,147,065.00 crop insurance/indemnification during the three batches of release for CY 2022.
Norwen Roldan, PCIC Region 5 Insurance Underwriter distributed the checks to the farmers. Filing for agricultural insurance cover with the PCIC is free for RSBSA-listed farmers and is being facilitated by the Municipal Agricultural Offices.
Mayor Romeo Y. Moreno lauded MA Arandia, the PCIC and the Department of Agriculture for the latters’ support to the farmers of Paracale.
Mayor Moreno also committed to providing the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist with a service vehicle this coming 2023 to hasten the delivery of services to the 27 barangays of Paracale. Out of these, 22 barangays are considered agricultural areas. (Lovella P. Guarin / DA –RAFIS 5)
