LEGAZPI City—Two local government units in Albay who were recognized by the Department of Agriculture in their annual awards bared some tips in achieving agricultural development in their community.
These were disclosed during the Agri-Forum Live “The Great Bicol LGUin the field of Agriculture” of the 3rd Bicol Agri-Aqua Fair held on October 29, 2019 in one of the malls here.
According to Noel Paz of the City Agriculture of Ligao, the basic tip is knowing the different programs of the government especially of the Department of Agriculture.
Paz also added that initiative and coordination with various government agencies is important in crafting programs for the farmers and their families.
The City Government of Ligao was awarded as one of the National Corn and Cassava Achievers of the DA.
The Albay Provincial Agriculturist Office gave two important tips why they were adjudged as 2018 National Outstanding PLGU implementing Organic Agriculture Program.
According to Nonon Daep, service and love for farmers is basic in developing agricultural programs.
“But most importantly, is the drive to excel in all our programs to meet and satisfy the demands of the Albayano farmers,” she quipped. (jaysonmgonzales)
