To help the elderly cope with old age and live it graciously and cheerfully, the Department of Agriculture recently conducted a seminar on “Growing Old Graciously and Coping with Old Age Crisis”. About 25 senior citizens from the municipalities of Pili, Minalabac, Ocampo and Canaman attended said training at the DA training Hall. Others attended virtually or on line via zoom.

Melba T. Vera Cruz, retired dietician/nutritionist of the Provincial Health Office of Camarines Sur was the invited resource person. She discussed the Ageing Process, Healthy Aging and the Fitness Assessment Test.

Emilia Bordado, currently the president of DA Senior Citizens and Persons with Disability (PWD) Association also imparted her views on growing old and shared her experiences in dealing with old age and trials in life. She said that “old is an inevitable reality that we must face cheerfully, graciously and victoriously no matter what circumstances we are in.”

The activity was organized by Nena P. Adupe, focal person for DA Senior Citizens and PWDs in partnership with the Senior Citizens and PWDs Association.
