LEGAZPI CITY—More than a thousand civil servants from 105 government offices all over the Bicol Region together with the Department of Agriculture-Bicol (DA) participated in the Zumba Fitness Fundraiser in celebration of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) 118th Anniversary dubbed as “Groovin’ for Pamanang Lingkod-Bayani (PLB) Year 4”. This kick-off activity was held on September 7, 2018 at the Legazpi City Convention Center here.
This activity kicked-off the month-long celebration of the CSC anniversary with the theme “Lingkod Bayani: MakaDiyos, Makatao, Makabayan” to inculcate the qualities of the a real Lingkod Bayani.
According to CSC-Bicol Regional Director Cecilia R. Nieto, this activity will raise funds for the PLB, a one-time financial assistance given to immediate families of government employees who died in the performance of their duties. Each family of the deceased employee will receive Php100,000.00 cash. Four beneficiaries already received the assistance.
Aside from the funds that will be generated by the said activity, the CSC is advocating work-life balance and healthy lifestyle.
DA-Bicol Human Resource Management Section Ma. Pureza San Buenaventura who led the delegation, said that DA-Bicol always participate in activities called by the CSC. DA-Bicol sent 17 representatives to the activity.
The Zumba activity was sponsored by LGU-Legazpi City; Legazpi City Health Office; Powermax Gym and Fitness Center (PGFC); City Water Districts of Legazpi, Tabaco and Ligao; LCC Malls; Elsed Drinking Water; Yakult; McDonald’s; and F Salon.
