LEGAZPI CITY—In celebration of the 119th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Department of Agriculture-Bicol participated in their “Groovin’ for PLB Year 5” Zumba Fitness Fundraiser event held on September 2, 2019 at the Legazpi City Convention Center here.

The activity aims to raise funds for the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLB) of the CSC, a one-time financial assistance given to immediate families of government employees who died in-the-line-of-duty.

More than 1000 participants and representatives from local government units, national government agencies, water districts, Philippine National Police all over the region attended in the fund-raising event.

According to CSC-5 Regional Director Cecilia Nieto, September is not only the anniversary of the CSC but of all government employees. A good example of a Bicolano government employee is General Simeon A. Ola, a hero in public service.

“We should live what we have sworn to, do our duties wholeheartedly and functions efficiently. We should live and promote the values of patriotism, spirituality, integrity and excellence so that we can build a high-class society,” she added. Simultaneous with the CSC celebration, The PNP, through Directorial Staff Ronald Cabral,  officially launched the National Crime Prevention Week with the theme “Buhay Pahalagahan, Komunidad Magtulungan, Krimen Hadlangan”.
