SAN AGUSTIN PILI CAMARINES SUR.  Some 20 young men in uniform of the 21st cavalry company,  underwent a 2-day Mushroom Production training conducted by the  Department of Agriculture Bicol on February 11-12 at the DA Research Building, this municipality. 

Sgt Richard Agapito who headed the troop said that the training  is part of the non-military activity they have to undergo each year.  He added that, with the increasing popularity of mushroom growing and demand for the particular edible fungi, they opted to engage in this kind of endeavor as additional livelihood and for their personal consumption as well. Pedro Oliver, Science Research Specialist II & Regional Focal Person on Mushroom served as the resource speaker during the lecture and actual demonstration. The participants were encouraged to try their hands on the mushroom fruit bag production, pasteurization, incubation, and inoculation technique.
